Career Decision-Making/Interest Testing

Program Overview

Making career decisions is a lifelong process. It is all about exploring and experiencing the world of work, but it is also about understanding your abilities, interests, skills, and values and combining these to create a meaningful framework for life.

Do you know what you’re good at?
Are you sure that the career you chose is the right one for you?
Maybe you being laid off is a given opportunity to rethink your career future and finally head a direction which will guarantee success and stability.

We offer one-on-one career counseling sessions (at our career center or comfort of your home) that provide career exploration through the use of the Strong Interest Inventory to aid clients in finding out what ones’ individual likes and dislikes across a wide range of career fields, occupations, school subjects, interests, and work functions. A second test based on personality type used is the Myers-Briggs-Type-Indicator, a personality assessment that aids individuals’ in understanding their personality characteristics compared with others’ to help one gain insight into their strength’s and weaknesses. This is a very insightful, interesting and fun test to take and the results are often quite fascinating.

Sara Knight is a formally trained Career Counselor who has two Master’s degrees from Northeastern University in Boston. She has worked in the field of career development as a counselor, recruiter, client relation’s manager, HR consultant and instructor for over ten years. It is her goal to provide exceptional, timely relevant services to those seeking to find gainful employment, advancement, continuing education and life experience in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
